Building Blocks!

It is my belief that children learn through play.  Everything they see, touch, smell, taste and hear becomes a learning experience.  My approach is a simple one...to expose them to new things on a daily basis and encourage them to explore, experiment and ask questions.  I feel that children express themselves best when allowed to be creative and follow their own instincts.  A typical day at Building Blocks will be structured but flexible and will nurture their development socially, physically, emotionally and cognitively.   Weekly themes, group activities, crafts, outdoor play and imaginative play will keep the schedule interesting and will allow them to learn while they do what kids do best...PLAY!   Children are busy creatures so along with a creative cirriculum, proper diet and rest periods are needed to help maintain strength and recharge energy levels.  A weekly menu that is balanced and nutritious containing food from the Canada Food Guide will be the foundation of all meals and snacks.   The children will  be encouraged to assist in the preparation and clean up as well ...meal times can be learning times too!  Storytime and naptime will rest their little bodies to help them recharge for their busy day ahead.
